Recently a webinar entitled “Selected problems of integrated crop protection in Warmia and Mazury province” took place.
Half of the pesticides will be withdrawn from the market in the European Union. This will happen within 10 years. It will cost us a lot. EU decisions may affect the yield of agricultural crops. They will probably decrease by 16-50%.
The biggest losses will be caused by sugar beet (30-70%) and potato (20-70%) cultivation. The quality of production may also be reduced. The whole situation will translate into increased costs of protection and production. It will amount to 13-25%. The most vulnerable crops are rapeseed crops – costs will increase by 26-39%.
As you can see, the future of plant protection in the EU does not look good.
